The Piper
The Piper in Marden have a group of walkers called the "WHY WALKERS" (why walk, they are not quite sure, but they do it anyway) and recently they completed a walk from Scarborough to North Shields and in doing so raised £1300 for our Branch. This was done with the support of the workers at "Chemson" Willington Quay as well as the support of the patrons of the "Piper Pub" in Marden. The North Tyneside Branch was represented at a presentation evening at "The Piper" Marden by some of its Fundraising Volunteers, where they gratefully received the cheque. The "Why Walkers" took the coastal scenic route and at the presentation gave a good account of the local geography and displayed photographs (to follow) of many of the beauty spots they passed along the way.
